RYA Level 3 Better Sailing

This improver course seeks to bridge the gap between Start Sailing L1, Basic Skills L2, and the Advanced Modules. It is intended to make the transition easier for those sailors wishing to progress further through the scheme, allowing them opportunity to practice and consolidate their techniques and also have a taster of what some of the  advanced modules have to offer.

Course run over 5 Half-days £240

Course content: Rigging, launching & recovery, revision & development of sailing techniques & manoeuvres, sailing theory, navigation, meteorology.

Pre-course experience: Level 2 or equivalent experience

Assumed knowledge: Sailing skills to the standard of level 2

Ability after course: More confident in sailing skills and techniques, and ready to progress onto the advanced modules

Duration: 2 days (or equivalent sessions)

Group size: a maximum of 6 in a group

Restrictions: Participants must be confident in open water

Age: 16 and over
If any of the participants are under 18 years of age the parent or guardian must sign on their behalf on the booking form

Clothing required: Please bring with you suitable clothing for the time of year and weather conditions. Jeans and Wellington boots are not suitable and you will not be permitted to take part wearing these items. Footwear is NOT provided and you are required to bring trainers or aqua shoes to wear Showers and changing facilities are provided on site

Special information: As we are situated within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, there is plenty for the spectator to do
